Wilson Nyirenda
This is Wilson Nyirenda, SAPEP’s Director. After a career in the Ministry of Education as a science teacher that led him from the Eastern Province to Monze in the Southern Province, he set up TEA (Teachers’ Education on AIDS) with Nina Atkins van Kogelenberg. Wilson and Nina have worked together under various HIV and AIDS organisations for many years. Wilson is married to Cecilia Lungu and has four children of his own as well as caring for a number of orphans.
Nina Atkins van Kogelenberg
This is Nina Atkins van Kogelenberg, who manages the Nkolola project. She came to Zambia from the Netherlands in 1968 as an obstetrician at Monze Mission Hospital. She was linked to Wilson by colleagues working in the field of HIV and AIDS and the two began working as a team.
Nina lives with her husband George on a farm near Magoye.
Bernadette Kadimba
Bernadette “Berna” Kadimba is our Administrative Coordinator. Berna is one of the pioneers of SAPEP - she was once a Peer Educator before she attended an interview to join SAPEP’s management team.
Berna has two children - Misozi and Danny - and a partner, Griffin.

Kenneth Bbweluuma
Kenneth is our Project Officer for Mazabuka Village Communities. He has been working with SAPEP since the beginning.
Kenneth is a keen singer and conductor. He is married with two children - Adkens and Alex.

Oliver Mukampaila
Oliver Mukampaila is our Project Officer for Monze Village Communities. He has been working with SAPEP since the beginning.
Oliver is in charge of the Monze expansion project, funded by the HIV/AIDS charity AVERT.

Joseph Sinkala
Joseph “Lenganji” Sinkala joined SAPEP straight from community development college to run a project on the commercial farms of Monze and Mazabuka districts funded by the Zambia National AIDS Network.
Joseph married his partner, Christine, in March 2008
